Sam Johnson Launches “Columbia Can’t Wait” Conversation Series

COLUMBIA – Columbia Mayoral Candidate Sam Johnson will kick the first in his “Columbia Can’t Wait” conversation series on Tuesday, March 23 at 6:30 PM. In honor of Women’s History Month, Tuesday’s conversation will focus on gender equality issues in Columbia featuring Johnson as well as a panel of trailblazers including Benedict College President Dr. Roslyn Artis, CityBright founder and former O’Rourke for President SC State Director Lauren Harper as well as Nexsen Pruet Attorney and former Democratic Candidate for Governor Marguerite Willis.

In addition, Tuesday’s “Columbia Can’t Wait” discussion will also highlight Johnson’s recent proposal to create The Mayor’s Council on Women’s Advancement to bring issues like pay equity, gender parity on boards and commissions and maternal mortality to the forefront of our debate and action.

Tuesday’s event will be broadcast live on the Sam Johnson for Mayor Facebook page where individuals can both watch and participate in the conversation.
